REDUCE GROUNDWATER CONSUMPTION

Most of us don’t realize how much water we use in a day. Simple actions—like shorter showers or turning off the faucet—help, but they barely scratch the surface of the groundwater crisis. In Arkansas, crop irrigation alone accounts for nearly 80% of total groundwater demand. That’s where the DROP Model makes a difference.

By working directly with farmers, DROP reduces agricultural groundwater use at scale and creates verified offsets that other industries can leverage to balance their own water footprints. Each year, DROP replaces groundwater irrigation with sustainable surface water across roughly 10,000 acres in the Arkansas Grand Prairie. The result: more than 18,000 acre-feet of groundwater preserved annually—over 5.8 billion gallons. That’s the equivalent of supplying water to more than 50,000 households every year.

Our goal is to keep growing—expanding our reach, replicating our model, and scaling outcomes so that groundwater preservation becomes not just a choice, but a shared commitment to water stewardship.
